The two men had been travelling towards Dowlais Furnace with eight horses carrying barley meal in bags on their backs and upon the rail road between Gwybedrog and Beaufort Furnace, a great number of people met them who demanded the goods be taken 'to Crickhowell to be divided before the Mayor'. mwy
