Reference is made in NLW MSS 206D to 52 Geo 3 C 50, an amended version of 51 Geo 3 C 127, 'for preventing the current gold coin of the realm from being paid or accepted for a greater value than the current value of such coin; for preventing any note or bill ....of the Bank of England .... being recieved for any smaller sum than the sum thereby specified.' Indictment refers to Haverfordwest Bank notes. mwy
